Boeing begins 747-8I fuselage assembly

Boeing has begun fuselage assembly of its first 747-8 Intercontinental at its Everett factory.

The machinists loaded panels for the 31-foot, 8-in (9.6 m) long front section of the new aircraft into the assembly tool.

Boeing has received 109 orders for the 747-8; out of which 33 are for the 747-8 Intercontinental and 76 for the 747-8F. The first 747-8 Intercontinental is due to be delivered in late 2011.
