EASA has endorsed FAA's type certifications of the Boeing 777 freighter.

Specifically the European regulatory body validated the 3 February approval by FAA, which formally recognizes the aircraft has passed stringent design and testing requirements mandated by the agencies.

The approvals allow for the start of cargo operations by launch customer Air France later in the first quarter.

A strike by Boeing machinists last year disrupted delivery of Air France's first aircraft, which was originally scheduled to arrive at the carrier in October 2008.
