Boeing has forecast demand for 1,150 commercial jets worth $130 billion in the Indian market over the next 20 years.

The market represents 4% of Boeing Commercial Airplanes' worldwide forecast, says Boeing India.

"There is strength and resilience in the India commercial aviation sector over the long term," says Boeing India president Dinesh Keskar.

"The potential for future growth of air travel, both domestically and internationally, is among the greatest in the world and Boeing will continue its efforts to be India's preferred partner and aerospace provider."

Air travel in the country will largely recover by 2011, says Keskar.

"We went through the deepest recession in the history of aviation but now India's recovery is one of the fastest. We believe there will be a record 50 million passengers this year if the trend continues," he adds.
