Boeing will consolidate flight training facilities in North America at its flight services training campus in Miami, Florida. This will include its 787 simulator training and maintenance training.
The company will move all its full-flight simulators and other training devices from Seattle to Miami, starting with two 787 training suites.
The planned consolidation, to be implemented immediately, will result in Miami being the pro-forma flight training location for Boeing in the Americas.
The relocation of 787 training to Miami is part of its plan to move training centres closer to where the airlines need them, says the airframer.
It adds that some employees will be affected, but the majority of flight training staff in Seattle will not be affected.
