State-owned Bolivian flag carrier Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) has wet-leased a Boeing 767-200ER from US charter specialist Omni Air International to operate the airline's only long haul route to Madrid.

The aircraft will replace the Airbus A340-200 that was operating on the route. Portugal's HiFly had operated the A340 under a six month contract for BoA since the flight was launched in late 2012. The contract has since concluded.

While the 767 offers fewer seats, BoA has increased the frequency on the route to four weekly flights from thrice weekly to up the capacity on the route.
