Bombardier Aerospace full-year profit halves

Bombardier Aerospace's earnings halved to $473 million in its last fiscal year, ending 31 January.

The regional aircraft and business jet manufacturer posted a 6% fall in revenues to $9.4 billion.

Bombardier says it achieved net orders for just 11 aircraft after accounting for 202 cancellations from its gross order figure of 213.

The company delivered 121 commercial aircraft, an increase of 11, but only 176 business aircraft - 59 fewer.

Its backlog at 31 January 2010 stood at $16.7 billion, a decline of nearly 30% from the previous end-of-year figure.
