Bombardier first-quarter aerospace earnings fall 20%

First-quarter earnings for Bombardier's aerospace division have fallen by nearly 20%, to $89 million.

The Canadian airframer delivered 53 aircraft in the three months to 31 January compared with 75 in the previous first-quarter period.

Revenues declined from $2.2 billion to $1.9 billion.

But the order intake recovered to a net total of 61, against just nine the year before, while the backlog increased by 3.6% to $17.3 billion.
