Bombardier is on track to deliver the first of 40 CRJ900s to Delta Air Lines in September, says Bombardier executive Chet Fuller.
The aircraft is in final production at the airframer's assembly facility at Mirabel and will be delivered on schedule, says senior vice-president of commercial Fuller at the Regional Airline Association annual conference in Montreal today.
Atlanta-based Delta has firm orders for 40 76-seat CRJ900s and options for an additional 30 aircraft, which will be operated by its regional subsidiary Pinnacle Airlines.
The airline says that it will receive 12 to 15 CRJ900s from Bombardier this year.
Delta will also take its first leased Boeing 717-200 from Southwest Airlines in July, with service beginning later in the third quarter.
