Passaredo Transportes Aereos has brokered a deal with Embraer for the lease of two previously-owned 50-seat ERJ-145s, as part of the Brazilian regional carrier's expansion plan.

Delivery is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2009.

Passaredo currently operates six EMB-120 Brasilia turboprops. It will use the ERJ-145s to strengthen its presence in Brazil's regional markets.

"With the introduction of the ERJ 145 jet, we intend to complement the services offered to our passengers, by increasing frequencies and adding destinations," says Passaredo Group president Jose Luiz Felicio.

Embraer recently began strengthening sales channels for its pre-owned aircraft through a new website at its wholly-owned subsidiary EEC Leasing Company.

The site also highlights Embraer's total support programme that supports start-up carriers and operators of pre-owned models.
