Brisbane airport has reopened its cross runway, freeing up capacity on the main runway for larger aircraft.

The cross-runway was closed in October last year for essential preparatory works for the construction of a new parallel runway.

The 1,760m (5,770ft) cross runway can cater to approximately 5-7% of flights at the airport, and is typically used by smaller aircraft on regional routes.
