Montreal-based CAE will install an Airbus A330 simulator at South African Airways' flight training centre in Johannesburg and offer the device to third-party customers.
The full-flight simulator will be owned and operated by CAE, but will be mainly used by the South African flag carrier.
It is to become available by the autumn of this year, CAE says.
The airline already has simulators for A320, A330 and A340 aircraft at the facility, which is part of its headquarters at OR Tambo International airport.
CAE wants to use the simulator to train pilots and maintenance personnel by third-party customers in the region,
It will be the first location of the Canadian company in Africa.
