Cambodia airports passenger numbers up 12.6% in 2011

Airports in Cambodia, including those in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, recorded a 12.6% year on year growth in passenger numbers to 3.67 million in 2011.

Phnom Penh International airport's passenger numbers rose by 9.95% to 1.84 million, while aircraft movement increased by 6% to 21,400 departures and arrivals.

Siem Reap International airport recorded a 15.5% growth in passenger numbers to 1.83 million, while aircraft movement rose by 14.5% to 23,400, said the airport operator.

Cargo traffic at both airports recorded a decline, with a 10.2% fall at Phnom Penh to 19,500 tonnes and a 63% decline at Siem Reap to 201 tonnes.
