Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has sent investigators to Ottawa International airport to investigate an incident of reported smoke in the cabin of an Air Canada Jazz aircraft, says the air safety investigative agency.

The agency provides no other details, but Air Canada Jazz tells Flightglobal that the aircraft, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, diverted to Ottawa and landed safely.

The airline says the aircraft was carrying carrying 69 passengers and operating Air Canada flight 8953 on 13 August from Fredericton in New Brunswick to Toronto.

There were no reports of injuries, the airline says.

"Emergency vehicles met the aircraft... upon arrival and confirmed there was no fire on board," says Air Canada Jazz.
