Bulgaria's Cargo Air will add Aeronautical Engineers' (AEI) Boeing 737-400 special freighter to its fleet.
AEI is in the process of modifying the 11-pallet Boeing 737-400 into a freighter from a passenger aircraft at its Miami conversion centre. The aircraft was built in 1989 with the serial number 24474.
In addition to the new conversion, Cargo Air operates three AEI-modified Boeing 737-300 special freighters with 10 cargo positions.
The 737-400 freighter conversion can hold up to 10 224cm x 318cm (88" x 125") AAA containers and one smaller pallet simultaneously. That capacity was one of the main reasons Cargo Air chose AEI's freighter conversion, says the airline.
