Cargolux has approached financiers to finance two upcoming Boeing 747-8F deliveries.
The Luxemburg-based carrier is looking at US Export-Import Bank-guaranteed financing with an option to refinance deliveries through a bond, according to Cargolux's vice president of corporate finance Yves Germeaux.
"We are not launching a request for proposals to the market. We will talk to our relationship counterparties," he tells Flightglobal.
In 2012, Cargolux received four new 747-8Fs and financed them through Ex-Im-supported loans.
Cargolux now operates 10 747-400Fs and six 747-8Fs. The carrier has seven more 747-8F deliveries scheduled through the end of 2014.
