Luxembourg-based freight specialist Cargolux takes delivery of its fifth Boeing 747-8 freighter on 13 September.
The aircraft (registration LX-VCF) is the second 747-8F to enter Cargolux's fleet with an improved maximum takeoff weight of 448 tonnes - six tonnes higher than its earlier deliveries.
The airline has eight additional 747-8Fs on order, one of which will be delivered later in 2012.
Cargolux is gradually allowing leases on its existing 747-400s to expire as its fleet modernisation programme progresses. Silk Way Airlines and Kenya Airways are among the carriers to receive its older units.
Delivery of Cargolux's first 747-8F was delayed in the autumn of 2011 following a dispute over the contractual performance of the aircraft.
