Romania's Carpatair on 21 April will start nonstop flights from Iasi to Rome Fiumicino.

Previously all services from the eastern Romanian city have gone through Carpatair's Timisoara hub.

The carrier will operate the route twice-weekly, with a third flight during the peak summer period of 5 July to 18 September.

It will use Fokker 70 regional jets on the sector.

Carpatair will also add an extra weekly frequency during the summer season to its existing services from Timisoara to Bacau, Chisinau, Odessa, Lvov, Chernivtsi, Venice, Verona, Milan, Rome, Bologna and Athens.
