Cathay Pacific has tapped Lufthansa Systems to provide airport navigation data for use in its Boeing 747-8 Freighter aircraft.

The Lido/AMDB system provides accurate data about airport layouts, including details such as buildings, surface types, runway slope, and other information to pilots.

“This increases the safety of flights while offering our pilots the benefits of an integrated system," says Mark Hoey, general manager operations at Cathay Pacific.

Flightglobal’s Ascend Online Fleet database shows that Cathay operates 10 747-8 freighters and has confirmed orders for three more.
