Cathay Pacific has begun the first stage of commercial operations of its new cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport.

The first consignment of air freight arrived at the new terminal on a Cathay Pacific flight from Sydney on Thursday, 21 February 2013.

Cathay Pacific Services will roll out operations in three stages to provide a smooth transition for its launch airline customers from their current cargo operations at the airport.

The terminal will be fully operational for its launch customers, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, in the second half of 2013, and Cathay intends to open its facilities and services to other airlines before the end of 2013.
