Cathay Pacific passenger traffic down 3.5% in November

Cathay Pacific Airways has posted a 3.5% decline in passenger traffic as measured in RPKs for November.

Passenger numbers rose by 3.8% to 2.36 million, says the Oneworld carrier, whose traffic figures include that of its subsidiary Dragonair.

The carrier's capacity as measured in ASKs decreased by 4.3%. Its passenger load factor grew by 0.7 percentage points to 79.2%, adds the airline.

On the cargo front, cargo volumes rose by 2.8% to 817,000t. The carrier's cargo and mail load factor for November fell by 1.4 percentage points to 63.9%.

Capacity, as measured in available cargo/mail tonne kilometre, rose by 5.1% in the month.
