Cathay Pacific passenger traffic down 3.9% in September

Cathay Pacific Airways has posted a 3.9% decline in passenger traffic as measured in RPKs for September.

Passenger numbers fell by 0.4% to 2.25 million, says the Oneworld carrier, whose traffic figures include that of its subsidiary Dragonair.

The carrier's capacity, as measured in ASKs, decreased by 2.1%. The passenger load factor fell by 1.5 percentage points to 78.2%, adds the airline.

On the cargo front, cargo volumes rose by 2.4% to 135,000t. The carrier's cargo and mail load factor for September fell by 2 percentage points to 62.8%.
