Cathay Pacific will begin codesharing with Bangkok Airways on 4 November, covering routes within Thailand, and those between Thailand and Hong Kong.
The agreement will cover services operated by Bangkok Airways on the Hong Kong-Koh Samui route, and on routes from Bangkok to Krabi and Chiang Mai, says Cathay Pacific.
Bangkok Airways, meanwhile, will place its code on services operated by Cathay Pacific on the Hong Kong-Bangkok route.
“Thailand is always the top of mind destination in Asia and we've seen a huge growth in the number of passengers traveling to Thailand,” says Bangkok Airways’ senior vice-president for network Peter Wiesner.
“The codeshare agreement provides passengers more choice, flexibility and convenience when traveling between Hong Kong and major cities in Thailand, namely Koh Samui, Bangkok, Krabi and Chiang Mai. We expect the codeshare agreement will offer a boost to Thailand tourism.”
