Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific Air has filed an application with the country's civil aeronautics board, seeking additional rights to serve Taiwan.

In its application, the carrier is requesting a re-allocation of 1,260 weekly seats from the un-utilised seat entitlements assigned to Philippine Airlines. A hearing on the case has been scheduled for 13 February.

Cebu Pacific operates daily services between Taipei and Manila, competing with Philippine Airlines, China Airlines and Eva Air on the route.
