Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific recorded 11% growth in its passenger numbers for 2012.

The airline carried approximately 13.3 million passengers from January to December 2012, compared with 12 million passengers in 2011.

Cebu Pacific attributed this growth to strategic expansion in its domestic and international operations during the year.

Domestic passengers at the carrier's Cebu hub grew by 20%, while the number at its Davao hub rose by 16%.

International passenger growth was recorded in Malaysia at 21%, followed by Taiwan with 22%, China with 29%, Vietnam with 30% and Brunei with 32%, says the carrier. This was largely a result of expansion, seat sales and strengthened tourism promotions, it adds.
