Philippine carriers Cebu Pacific and Zest Air have filed an application with the country's Civil Aeronautics Board to allocate traffic rights to Papua New Guinea.

In their applications, both carriers seek to be designated as an official carrier to Papua New Guinea and allocated 540 seat entitlements.

This is equivalent to a thrice weekly service operated on a 180 seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
