Charter carrier Cobham Aviation Services has won an extension to a key contract with Chevron to provide charter services to Barrow Island in Western Australia.

The services support Chevron's Gorgon liquefied natural gas project, and the latest extension will see Cobham provide a fourth BAe 146 aircraft to support its operations at Barrow Island until 30 April 2015.

“We have a long-term relationship with Chevron Australia with more than 50 Cobham aircrew, including pilots and cabin crew, now supporting flight services for the Gorgon Project,” says Cobham’s general manager for regional services Ryan Both. “We pride ourselves on our ability to provide a tailored chartered jet service, such as meeting the rigorous quarantine requirements associated with operating flights to Barrow Island.”

As well as resource charter services, Cobham also operates Boeing 717s on behalf of QantasLink and freighter aircraft for Qantas Freight.
