Chilean airline group LAN expects a resolution in August from Chile's anti-trust court on the carrier's proposed merger with Brazilian airline TAM.
The Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia (TDLC) opened a full review into the merger in March and has yet to approve the deal. A public hearing by the TDLC took place on 26 May.
"A resolution is expected in August," said LAN CFO Alejandro de la Fuente, adding that he could not say when the merger will be finalised.
LAN and TAM announced their intention to merge in August 2010, and have said they aim to wrap up the merger by end-2011, but the anti-trust move could delay this to early 2012.
