China Aircraft Leasing Co (CALC) has picked the CFM International CFM56-5B engine to power 25 of the 36 Airbus A320 family aircraft it ordered at the 2012 Farnborough air show.
The firm order is valued at $500 million at list prices, with deliveries scheduled from 2014 through to 2016, says CFM.
The Hong Kong-based lessor's 2012 aircraft order includes eight A321s.
CALC has not disclosed the engine selection for the remaining 11 aircraft.
Powerplant options for the A320 include the CFM56-5B and the International Aero Engines V2500.
