Taiwan's China Airlines and subsidiary Mandarin Airlines plan to launch two services to China in June.
China Airlines will begin a Taipei Taoyuan-Urumqi service on 25 June using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, while Mandarin Airlines will begin a Taipei Taoyuan-Lijiang service on 26 June using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Both services will be operated thrice weekly, says an airline official.
Innovata schedules show that Mandarin Airlines will be the only operator on the Taipei Taoyuan-Lijiang route, while China Airlines will compete with China Southern Airlines on the Taipei Taoyuan-Urumqi route.
Lijiang is located in the southwest Yunnan province.
