China Airlines passenger traffic up 3.8% in August

Taiwan's China Airlines (CAL) has reported 3.8% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, for August.

The carrier's overall passenger capacity for the month, as measured in ASKs, rose by 4%, compared with the corresponding period last year.

Passenger load factor decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 81.9%, CAL said in statement.

On the cargo front, its revenue freight tonne kilometres fell by 15.8%, while capacity, as measured in available freight tonne kilometres, declined by 17.4%. The cargo load factor for the month grew by 1.2 percentage points to 68.6%.
