China Eastern Airlines launched a thrice weekly Shanghai Pudong-Taipei Songshan service on 18 January.

The carrier uses Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the route, says the carrier.

The Skyteam alliance member also upgauged its Shanghai Hongqiao-Taipei Songshan service from Boeing 737-800s to the larger Airbus A330-300 model. This took place on 17 January, it adds.

Flightglobal’s FlightMaps Analytics show that China Eastern Airlines competes with TransAsia Airways and Eva Air’s subsidiary Uni Air on the Shanghai Pudong-Taipei Songshan route.
