China Eastern Airlines has merged the Hebei branch of the airline with China United Airlines.
The new airline is based at Beijing Nanyuan airport, but it will also operate from Beijing Capital International and Hebei Zhengding airports.
China United has commenced services with a fleet of 23 Boeing 737s and expects to expand the fleet to 50 aircraft by 2015, says China Eastern.
China Eastern says the integration of the two airlines is part of its strategy to focus on the key cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, linking them to its wider domestic and international network.
It adds that the Hebei region represents an emerging aviation market and will continue to be a key focus area for the airline.
