China Eastern passenger traffic up 9% in April

China Eastern Airlines' passenger traffic as measured in RPKs grew by 8.8% in April, compared with the same period last year.

Its passenger capacity as measured in ASKs went up by 12%, while passenger numbers increased by 5.9% to 6.44 million.

The carrier's passenger load factor fell by 2.4 percentage points to 79%.

On domestic routes, the carrier's passenger traffic grew by 5.9% and capacity increased by 11%.

On international routes, its passenger traffic increased by 18%, while capacity increased by 17%.

On regional routes, the airline's passenger traffic went down by 1.4%, while capacity rose by 4.5%.

The amount of cargo carried by the airline fell by 4.6% to 113,000t.
