China Southern Airlines has delayed the launch of its twice weekly Guangzhou-Kota Kinabalu service to 23 January 2013.
The carrier was originally scheduled to begin the service on 31 October. Its spokeswoman did not give a reason for the delay.
China Southern will raise its Guangzhou-Singapore frequency from thrice to four times daily on 1 February 2013.
It will use Boeing 737-700 aircraft on the additional service.
Its Urumqi-Tehran frequency, however, has been reduced from four times to once weekly since 28 October, adds the spokeswoman.
Innovata Schedules show that China Southern will be the only operator on the Guangzhou-Kota Kinabalu route. It competes with carriers such as Singapore Airlines on the Guangzhou-Singapore route.
