China Southern Airlines' overall passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 14% year on year in August.

Domestic traffic for the month increased by 13%, while regional traffic rose by 5% and international traffic went up by 17%.

The airline's overall capacity, as measured in ASKs, grew by 14%. Its domestic capacity increased by 15%, while regional capacity climbed 6.8% and international capacity went up by 10%.

The airline carried a total of 9.14 million passengers for the month, up by 10%. The carrier's domestic passenger numbers increased 10% to 8.18 million. Its regional passenger numbers grew 11% to 195,000 and international passenger numbers surged by 11.5% to 759,000.

China Southern's overall passenger load factor during the month went up by 0.1 percentage points to 83.4%. Its domestic passenger load factor fell 1.1 percentage points to 83.2%, while its regional load factor declined by 1.4 percentage points to 77.8%. Its international passenger load factor increased 5.1 percentage points to 84.7%.
