China Southern Airlines has posted a 4.2 percentage point increase in its overall passenger load factor to 82.7% for February.
Its overall passenger traffic as measured in RPKs rose by 18% year on year, while domestic traffic for the month rose by 17%, regional traffic grew by 15% and international traffic increased by 24%, says the SkyTeam alliance member.
The airline's overall capacity as measured in ASKs grew by 12%, compared with February last year, which had one extra day because of the leap year.
Its domestic capacity increased by 11%, while regional capacity rose by 7.7% and international capacity grew by 15%.
The total number of passengers carried by the airline grew by 14% to 7.3 million. The carrier's domestic passenger numbers increased by 14% to 6.56 million. Its regional passenger numbers rose by 22% to 159,000 and international passenger numbers grew by 17% to 584,000.
Its domestic passenger load factor increased by 3.8 percentage points to 84.30%, while its regional load factor grew by 4.8 percentage points to 74.6% and international passenger load factor increased by 5.8 percentage points to 77.6%.
