China Southern passenger traffic up 13% in June

China Southern Airlines's passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 12.5% year on year in June.

Domestic traffic for the month increased by 11.8%, while regional traffic fell by 0.6% and international traffic went up by 16.5%, says the SkyTeam alliance member.

The airline's overall capacity, as measured in ASKs, grew by 11.9%. Its domestic capacity increased by 12.1%, while regional capacity increased by 5% and international capacity increased by 12%.

Total number of passengers carried by the airline increased by 9.5% to 7.42 million. The carrier's domestic passenger numbers increased by 9.8% to 6.66 million. Its regional passenger numbers went up by 2.8% to 163,000 and international passenger numbers grew by 9.2% to 606,000.

China Southern's overall passenger load factor during the month increased by 0.4 percentage points to 80.4%. Its domestic passenger load factor decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 81.4%, while its regional load factor fell by 3.9 percentage points to 68.8% and international passenger load factor increased by 3 percentage points to 77.9%.
