China's Taikoo Engine Services (TEXL) has received an extension to its Part 145 approval certificates to perform maintenance on the GE Aviation GE90-110/115B engines.

It received the certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the US FAA, said TEXL.

TEXL's facility expansion includes chemical cleaning, mechanical cleaning, non-destructive testing lines and workshop areas that enable TEXL to perform GE90-110/115B module disassembly to piece parts.

Paul McElhinney, vice president, GE Engine services, said: "GE recognises TEXL as the sole and recommended GBSA GE90 MRO subcontractor in Asia for GEES's GE90 MRO customers and as an important part of GE's global MRO network."

Augustus Tang, chairman, TEXL, added: "This advancement makes TEXL the only current provider - other than the OEM, of GE90-110/115B overhaul and test services, capable of serving the global market."
