Irish regional carrier CityJet is to launch new routes to Amsterdam and Dublin from Cambridge in the UK, replacing Etihad Regional on the link to the Dutch city.
CityJet will launch the flights, served with Fokker 50 aircraft, on 12 May. CityJet will operate the routes twice-daily during the week and daily at weekends.
German investment firm Intro Aviation is about to formally close a deal to acquire CityJet from Air France.
The former Darwin Airline operation, which rebranded as Etihad Regional after investment by the UAE carrier, began operating flights from Cambridge from Amsterdam six months ago. But it dropped this link, as well as a Geneva service, at the end of March following a network review. The airline will though next month initiate a Cambridge service to Verona in Italy, in conjunction with a UK tour operator.
