Comac is conducting further flight tests on its ARJ21-700 aircraft at Dongying Shengli airport in Shandong province.

Aircraft 103 took off from the airport at 14:00 local time and landed smoothly at 15:43 on Thursday, 21 June 2012. All conditions of the airspace familiarity flight were good, says Comac.

This is the aircraft's first flight at the airport after it transitioned from Xi'an Yanliang airport earlier this month.

In April, Comac started crosswind flight tests for the ARJ21 programme with aircraft 102 at Jiayuguan airport in Gansu province.

The aircraft is being subjected to tests on its engine inlet distortion, engine exhaust, auxiliary power unit exhausts and its ground directional stability during a crosswind landing.

Launch customer Chengdu Airlines was due to receive its first aircraft by the end of 2011, but ongoing delays in the certification process means this has been pushed back by up to a year.
