European Commission regulators have pushed back, by two weeks, the deadline for considering International Airlines Group's acquisition of UK operator BMI.
While the Commission had set a provisional deadline of 16 March, a new filing shows this has been deferred to 30 March.
The change appears to have followed the submission of commitments - normally aimed at easing competition concerns - on 9 March.
IAG, which is hoping to secure approval for purchasing BMI from Lufthansa Group by the end of this month, has not disclosed the nature of these commitments.
"We're talking to the European Union and remain confident that we will receive regulatory approval for the deal. We are not going into more details at this stage," says IAG.
