Firm orders and tentative commitments for new aircraft topped the 1,000 mark during the recent Paris air show, including firm commitments for nearly 700 aircraft.
The 696 firm orders announced at Le Bourget were swelled by the formalising of some previously tentatively agreed commitments, such as Ryanair's deal for 175 Boeing 737-800s and Lufthansa's 100 Airbus narrowbody order. Notable orders included launch commitments for Boeing's new 787-10 variant and Embraer's E-2 E-Jet family.
Alongside the firm commitments there were 383 tentative commitments and nearly 450 options announced during the show.
