Copa Airlines closes 737-800 sale and leaseback

Operating lessor MCAP Europe has closed the purchase and leaseback transaction of a new Boeing 737-800 delivery with Copa Airlines.

The aircraft (MSN 40790) was delivered on 16 October and is under a 90-month lease term.

The transaction marks the fourth 737-800 purchase and leaseback with MCAP Europe this year. The other aircraft closed in March, April and August.

Copa has four 737-800 deliveries scheduled next year under sale and leasebacks with SMBC Aviation Capital.

According to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database, two aircraft are scheduled in March and April while the remaining two are due in October and November.

Copa has two additional deliveries from its orderbook in the fourth quarter of next year.
