Panamanian carrier Copa Airlines will equip its next
generation Boeing 737 fleet with the required navigation performance (RNP)
program with procedure designer Naverus.
When fully deployed, the technology will result in up to 10%
fuel savings and improve airline schedule efficiency because of improved
approach and departure capabilities, Naverus VP business development David
Hathaway says in a statement.
Naverus completed an RNP readiness assessment at Copa to
help the airline begin the RNP program.
The Latin American carrier has already adopted blended
winglets and other technologies aimed at improving fuel efficiency and reducing
