Copenhagen airport plans to sell its 49% stake in NIAL Group, the parent company of Newcastle International airport.

The planned divestment will be made in connection with an upcoming refinancing of NIAL, the Danish airport says.

Royal Bank of Canada Europe has been appointed as the financial adviser for the transaction, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

The remaining 51% of NIAL group is held by seven municipalities that formed a public private partnership with Copenhagen airport.
