Bombardier has awarded Coriolis Composites a contract to supply automated fibre placement robots to manufacture composite parts for the aft fuselage of the CSeries.

Coriolis has developed and supplied automated, robotics-based fibre placement systems for original equipment manufacturers in Europe, the company states, explaining use of standard robotic components as a basis for fibre placement equipment makes the system economically attractive and flexible with respect to machine-tool based systems.

Bombardier plans to certificate in 2013 the first CSeries variant, the 110- to 125-seat CS100, with first deliveries later that year.
