Middle East aircraft lessor DAE Capital has signed a deal to purchase 50 shipsets of blended winglets for its Boeing 737-700/800s from Aviation Partners Boeing.

The lessor is due to start taking delivery of 70 Boeing 737-700/800s in 2010 under a commitment for 100 Boeing aircraft first announced last year.

DAE Capital CEO Bob Genise says: "The many advantages of blended winglet technology can be realised both in the short-term and throughout the entire economic life of the aircraft."
