Russian carrier Dalavia has made its first advance payment for the acquisition of six Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, and plans to sign a contract with VTB-Leasing by the end of this month.

The Khabarovsk-based carrier says it expects to begin operating the first twin-jet in October 2009 and have all six Superjets by July 2010.

Dalavia also has options on another four of the type.
