Flybe has concluded the sale and leaseback of 16 Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft (24, 39, 42, 88, 94, 107, 167, 177, 196, 201, 219, 300, 357, 404, 458, 482, 546, 578, 617) all with AE3007-A1 engines. The aircraft have been purchased by US investors and leased back to Flybe, who acquired the aircraft in March this year from British Airways. All 16 aircraft were built between 1997 and 2002 and operated by British Airways subsidiaries. Airstream International Group arranged the sale and leaseback on behalf of Flybe. As part of the transaction, Airstream was also appointed by the new owner as exclusive remarketing agent for the aircraft.
Flybe also operates another nine aircraft of the type on 10-year operating leases from RBS Aviation Capital. The aircraft are scheduled to exit the fleet between 2009 and 2011.

Aircastle purchased an Airbus A330-300 (86) aircraft with CF6-80E1A2 engines from Airbus Financial Services. The 1994-built aircraft is currently leased to Aer Lingus.

ABX Air purchased a 1985-built Boeing 767-200ER (23307) with Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4E engines from Air China. ABX Air said the purchase, modification and revenue service costs are approximately $23m. The aircraft will be delivered to ABX Air in the fourth quarter of this year and then sent to VEM Maintenance & Engineering for cargo conversion. It is expected to enter service in the second quarter of 2008.

AeroLíneas MesoAmericanas leased a Bombardier CRJ-200 (7299) with CF34-3B1 engines from Bombardier for a period of five years. The 1999-built aircraft was last operated by Styrian Spirit. According to sources, Alma plans to add three more aircraft this year.

AirAsia X agreed to lease its first of 15 Airbus A330-300s from operating lessor AWAS. The carrier leased a 1994-built A330-300 (54) with CF6-80E1A2 engines from AWAS. The ex-Air Madrid aircraft was returned to the lessor at the end of last year after the carrier stopped operations.
Avioserv San Diego acquired a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 aircraft (49586) with JT8D-217C engines from SAir Group Financiere. The 1988-built aircraft has a lease attached to Aero-mexico through August 2008.

Flylal acquired two Boeing 737-300s (24664, 24667) with CFM56-3B1 engines from Q Aviation. Both 1990-built aircraft were pre-viously on lease to ATA Airlines. MSN 24667 has been delivered while MSN 24664 is scheduled for delivery in September or October.

GA Telesis acquired five 1989/90-built Airbus A320-200s (39, 42, 103, 109, 120) with CFM56-5A1 engines from Novus Aviation. The aircraft are currently on operating lease to British Airways are subject to a lease extension. MSN 39 and 42 have current lease ending in January 2008, MSN 103 has a lease until December 2008, MSN 109 has a lease until July 2008 and MSN 120 has a lease until September 2008.

Global Principal Finance acquired a Bombardier CRJ-200LR (7295) with CF34-3B1 engines from ING Lease (Ireland). The 1999-built aircraft, which was previously operated by Independence Air, was remarketed by mba.

Guggenheim Aviation Partners acquired a Boeing 767-300ER (25132) with CF6-80C2B2F engines from AWAS. The 1992-built aircraft has a lease attached to LAN Airlines.

Jet Midwest purchased seven more McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft (49154, 49166, 49170, 49356, 49357, 49358, 49369) with JT8D-217A engines from American Airlines. Jet Midwest has now acquired 14 MD-82s from AA for tear down. In June 2006 it acquired three 1981-built aircraft, two 1983-built aircraft and one 1984-built aircraft. This time the aircraft were built between 1983 and 1986.

Lehman Brothers acquired a Bombardier CRJ-100LR (7086) with CF34-3A1 engines from Bombardier for forward lease. The 1995-built aircraft had been operated by Lufthansa Cityline since delivery.

MDLR Airlines signed a lease agreement with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft for a third Avro RJ-70 aircraft (1252) with engines. The new aircraft will be delivered by the end of Sep-tember. Currently MDLR Airlines uses its two RJ-70s to link Delhi and Calcutta with provincial centres Chandigarh to the north of the capital and to Ranchi. New services are planned to link Delhi with Jaipur and Surat to the south west of the capital.

Midwest Airlines leased two McDonnell Douglas MD-88s (49759, 49766) with JT8D-219 engines from GECAS. The 1989-built aircraft were previously leased to Efata Papua Airlines.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has agreed to lease seven new Airbus A320-200 air-craft from Aviation Lease and Finance (ALAFCO). The A320s will replace PIA’s Boeing 737-300 f1eet, which has served the airline for more than 20 years. The deliveries of the A320s are expected to commence in 2009 and be completed in the same year.

THY Turkish Airlines signed five-year lease extension agreements with Airplanes Finance for three Boeing 737-400 aircraft (25181, 25184, 25261) with CFM56-3C1 engines. The aircraft, which were initially leased in February 1992, March 1992 and October 1992, had lease expiry dates of February 2008, May 2008 and April 2008, respectively. The lease extensions will see the aircraft staying at THY Turkish Airlines through 2013.

S7 (Sibir Airlines) entered into a lease financing agreement with PK Airfinance and Calyon for nine Airbus A319-100s (1819, 1870, 2028, 2369, 2373, 2464, 2474, 2618, 2641) with CFM56-5A5 engines. PK Air Finance purchased the aircraft (two were built in 2002, one in 2003 and the rest in 2005) from Northwest Airlines. The financing has been arranged by PK Airfinance as arranger, agent and security trustee. Calyon is acting as debt co-arranger.

Voyageur Airways acquired a Bombardier CRJ-100LR (7073) with CF34-3A1 engines from Bombardier. The 1995-built aircraft had been operated by Lufthansa Cityline since delivery.

TAB Airlines leased a Douglas DC10-10 Freighter (46903) with engines from Centurion Air Cargo.
Pronair completed the purchase of a Boeing 747-200F (20826) with JT9D-70A engines from Jet Midwest.
 
Turboprops
Aelis Air Services acquired an Embraer 120ER
(213) with PW118 engines from PGR Aviation, for forward lease to Equaflight of Congo. Aelis acquired the 1990-built aircraft from Regional in July.
Elysian Air leased an Embraer 120RT (200) with PW118 engines from Naturelink Aviation for a period of one year, with an option to extend for another 24 months. The 1990-built aircraft was previously with Interlink Services.
