Delta Air Lines and China Eastern Airlines received approval to expand their existing codeshare agreement to three additional markets from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) today.

China Eastern will place its MU code on Delta flights between the Shanghai-based airline's Honolulu, Los Angeles and New York's John F Kennedy airport gateways and Buffalo, Charlotte and Philadelphia.

Both carriers are members of the SkyTeam alliance.

The DOT approval expires on 11 May 2013.
